The First Post!

Thank you for taking a look at this, my new blog. It will get more fancy as I play around with it a bit. We all start somewhere. This is my first blog, yeah I am a little late to the game, but I have certainly enjoyed reading them over the years. I'll explain more about who I am and what makes me tick in a later post or update in general. What I would like to tell you now is the (initial) purpose of this blog.

Within the borders of the 101 cities and towns of Western Mass I intend to visit every library - public & private (hopefully), college, and yes, all branches. In addition, I am also going to visit every museum both large and small. I will tell you about the places I visit. I shall investigate the history, take a few photos, sniff a few old books - I shall thoroughly enjoy the visit as anyone who loves history, books, old places, old photos and so on... would. I shall bring all that to you and more. This is my new quest!

That is why I have established this little place. I shall keep all of you up to date while on out my adventures. It is my hope that you have as much fun reading this blog as I shall have going out and gathering the material for it. Hmmm... now which library shall be my first choice. I owe them a little money... :)

  1. Congratulations on your 1st blog post! As a fellow library and museum lover, I am looking forward to seeing many more!

  2. Thank you for following and thanks for the nice send off! You shall not be disappointed. This is going to be fun!

  3. I had never cared much for "history." I never realized the significance until I discovered what a typical (not "atypical") under-informed, American I was... one who knew nothing but the world that revolved around me. There's not a day that goes by that I don't wish I had actually read the books on the reading list or delved deeper into the concepts instead of merely skimming the surface. I look forward to following your journey and learning vicariously from you now that I can truly appreciate what the past has to offer. Who knows... I may surprise you one day with a post from the Salvador Dali Museum the next time I am in that area. Hmmmm.... I wonder what else South Florida has to offer? Great idea, Eric! You've inspired me, and I know your blog will positively impact many lives.

  4. Thank you for your eloquent words Julie. Everybody takes a different path and there is no right or wrong way. Perhaps you could have read those books on an earlier day, but unless you were living under a rock you probably just worked on other skills which may have served you well in your life. Now, you can take a few moments to go back and read a few of those books. As for inspiration, oh yes, I have people who inspire and drive me, so I hope that I can live up to your kind words and in turn inspire a few others.
